Nearly 200 cannabis plants have been discovered at a property near Kempsey, Worcester.
Police raided the house on Teme Road on Monday following reports from locals concerned about drug cultivation in the area. Inside, officers uncovered 189 cannabis plants, along with evidence of the drug being dried and prepared for sale. A 22-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of producing cannabis.
West Mercia Police emphasized the broader dangers associated with operations of this scale, noting they are often tied to “organised crime groups, whose activities fuel further criminality, including modern slavery.”
The force stated, “Tackling these operations is vital to protecting our communities and keeping them safe from harm.”
