What’s Happening at Pixham Ferry Lane? A Community Centre? A Secret Rocket Launchpad? Not Quite…

If you’ve wandered down Pixham Ferry Lane lately and spotted some curious activity — a bit of fencing here, some signage there — you might have thought “Ooh, are they finally breaking ground on that shiny new community and sports centre?”

Well… not just yet. Put the champagne back in the fridge.

What’s actually going on is just as important (though admittedly a little less glamorous). The Parish Council, responding to your thoughtful and constructive feedback (yes, you clever lot!), have installed temporary fencing and signage at the entrance to the hardstanding at Pixham Ferry Lane.

Why all the fuss? In plain terms:

🚧 People were getting a bit too curious about the area.

🚧 Vehicles were entering where they shouldn’t.

🚧 Safety first – we don’t want any unintended mud baths or impromptu off-roading adventures.

So now, to keep the site secure while it’s being cleared and made safe, fencing is up, signs are posted, and the polite (but firm) message is: “Please do not enter the site.”

But wait… could something bigger be coming

We’re not saying there’s a hidden portal to another dimension being unearthed there. We’re also not saying there isn’t. 🤔 In all seriousness – thank you for your patience and support while this essential groundwork is done. It’s all part of keeping Kempsey safe, tidy, and ready for whatever’s next. (Spoiler alert: we are hoping for that lovely community centre in the future. Keep those fingers crossed.)

Stay curious, Kempsey — just maybe not inside the fencing.
