Riverside Flooding at Kempsey: Caravan Park and Boatyard Cut Off

River levels on the River Severn continue to rise, and the low-lying sites along the Kempsey bank are now under water. Access to the caravan park and boatyard at Court Meadow has been reported as cut off, with side roads and drives close to the riverbank rendered impassable.

According to recent measurements, the river is currently around 6.5 metres at this point, placing local paths such as the Severn Way footpath completely under a foot (or more) of flood-water. Yahoo News UK+1

Local residents and visitors are advised to stay away from the riverbank in the Kempsey area and to avoid using the riverside access roads until levels subside and emergency crews confirm that it’s safe. The water is affecting not just the park, but nearby infrastructure too.

We’ll monitor developments and update when access is restored or further precautions become necessary.
