Why Monday’s Meeting Is Crucial
This Monday at 7pm, Kempsey Parish Council (KPC) will be meeting to vote on whether the tender document for the pump track is approved.
This might sound like paperwork, but it’s the critical step that unlocks everything:
- KPC must approve the tender document.
- Once approved, it goes out to companies who can build the pump track.
- A company is selected and the project is formally awarded.
- Only then can a spade go in the ground.
And that spade in the ground matters more than ever…
£80,000 Funding on the Table
Malvern Hills District Council has pledged £80,000 towards the pump track – a massive boost for the village and a rare investment in youth facilities.
But there’s a condition:
A spade has to go in the ground by March 2026.
That means the process must move forward now.
Any delay at this stage risks missing the deadline, risking the funding, and risking yet another year (or more) without the facilities our young people deserve.
Why We Need Community Support
KPC needs to feel the village behind them.
Your presence, your voices, and your support will show councillors that:
- The pump track is wanted
- The pump track is needed
- The pump track has full community backing
- The children of Kempsey – who have asked for this for five years – deserve action
This isn’t just about a track.
It’s about investing in youth, creating healthy spaces, building community, and ensuring money already promised to Kempsey actually reaches Kempsey.
