A new café planned for Kempsey Eco Business Park has taken another step towards opening, with the owners now advertising for a general manager – a move that hints the doors could open in spring 2026.
The café, operated by Gandies Group Ltd, has recently been granted planning permission to convert two front-facing units at the business park on Main Road into what the owners describe as a “relaxed, welcoming space” serving brunch and lunch.
While the site sits some distance from the centre of the village – and is very much on an industrial estate – it’s still being seen as a welcome addition to the parish, particularly for walkers, cyclists, and those working nearby.
In the planning application, applicant Joseph Ganderton said the café is intended to cater for “local residents, families, dog walkers, and business park employees”
Importantly for nearby residents, the plans make clear that the café will not operate as a late-night venue. There will be no permanent evening trade, no high-intensity activity, and no alcohol sales beyond typical café offerings.
The recently posted job advert for a general manager, with a start date listed as spring 2026, suggests the opening is now firmly on the horizon, although a confirmed date has yet to be announced.
The café is expected to operate five days a week, opening 8am to 5pm.
Despite its location being a bit of a trek from the heart of the village, many locals will welcome another independent food spot – especially one promising daytime trade, dog-friendly vibes, and a focus on community rather than late nights.
As always, we’ll share updates as more details emerge.
