Kempsey residents, mark your calendars – and maybe your lunch breaks – because the next PACT Meeting (Partners and Communities Together) is happening on:
📅 Tuesday 18 November 2025
🕧 12:30pm
📍 Kempsey Community Centre
Yes, you read that correctly… 12:30pm. On a weekday.
Because nothing says “community voice” quite like hosting an important meeting precisely when most of the community is at work, on school runs, or juggling lunch, life and everything in between.
But don’t worry – there’s a reason!
Apparently because it’s winter and “it gets dark earlier,” the meeting cannot be held in the evening. Funny how no other village meeting in the history of ever has melted under a streetlamp, but here we are.
So what’s this meeting actually about?
The invite mentions that councillors will be on hand to listen and respond to your complaints.
And – in a particularly eyebrow-raising line – it’s “especially” calling those who signed the change.org petition calling for a new Parish Council. Link here
So yes, you, the people who politely suggested we might need a bit of a reset.
You’re front-row VIPs now.
What actually is a PACT meeting?
In it’s truest form, PACT should be: A non-authoritarian, Independent, Community-first, Partnership-driven conversation between residents and the organisations that serve them. A place where voices matter and communities collaborate. Not… well… a lunchtime lecture at the Council office when three-quarters of the village are clocked in at work.
