Record Turnout for St. David’s Day Bike Marking Event in Kempsey

Glorious sunshine on St. David’s Day brought a fantastic turnout to St. Mary’s Kempsey, where a record-breaking twenty-nine bikes were security marked by the dedicated team from Malvern Hills Council. The event, aimed at protecting bikes from theft, was a huge success, bringing the community together in a wonderful show of support and engagement.

Community Collaboration at It’s Best

The event was made possible with the support of West Mercia Police’s Safer Neighbourhood Team and Platform Housing, ensuring that local residents had the opportunity to safeguard their bicycles through the National Bike Marking Scheme. Even Rev. Kat Mepham was among the early visitors, registering her trusty bike to ensure its security!

Adding to the lively atmosphere, County Councillor Martin Allen and District Councillor David Harrison stopped by, showing their support for this important initiative. It was a true community gathering, highlighting the spirit of Kempsey.

A Warm Welcome from Lovely Jubbly Pop-Up Tea Stop

No Kempsey event would be complete without some traditional warm hospitality, and the CIC’s Lovely Jubbly Pop-Up Tea Stop delivered just that! Attendees enjoyed a welcoming space to chat, relax, and enjoy some well-earned refreshments while getting their bikes marked.
