Fly-Tipping at Pixham Ferry Lane: Three Weeks and Still No Action

Residents of Kempsey are growing increasingly frustrated as a major fly-tipping incident at Pixham Ferry Lane remains unaddressed. The issue was reported to Kempsey Parish Council (KPC) three weeks ago, yet the mess is still there, causing concern for both locals and visitors.

Who’s Responsible?

The problem lies in the fact that the land is privately owned by Kempsey Parish Council. As a result, Worcester City Council and Malvern Hills District Council refuse to intervene, leaving the responsibility solely with KPC.

Given the already strained relationship between KPC and the other councils, it’s hardly surprising that cooperation on this matter is lacking.

A Growing Problem

Fly-tipping is not just an eyesore it’s a hazard to wildlife, an environmental issue, and a sign of neglect. With weeks passing and no cleanup in sight, residents are questioning whether KPC is taking the issue seriously.

What Needs to Happen?

While it’s clear that KPC is responsible for addressing this issue, the lack of urgency is concerning. Residents deserve better, and if the parish council cannot handle the cleanup, they should seek external support or funding to resolve it quickly.

In the meantime, the community continues to wait frustrated, but not surprised. Will KPC finally step up and take action? Time will tell.

Is it time for ex-councillors to return to shake up the current parish council to get things done for our local community and village?
