Worcester’s Beloved Peregrine Falcons Are Back – Watch Peter and Peggy Live!

The city’s favorite feathered duo, Peter and Peggy, have returned to Worcester Cathedral, and so has your chance to witness them up close with the annual Peregrine Live Stream on YouTube.

This captivating live stream offers an intimate view of the peregrines as they prepare their nest, known as a “scrape” – a hollow in the gravel for nesting – and raise their 2025 chicks.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Peregrine Falcons in Worcester again to share the excitement and updates from the nest,” said a Cathedral representative. “We’re hopeful for another successful breeding season, and so far, things are looking promising!”

While there’s not much action just yet, the first eggs are usually laid towards the end of March or early April. For now, viewers can enjoy glimpses of Peter and Peggy as they prepare their nest for the season ahead.

A Historic Partnership

Peter and Peggy first nested at Worcester Cathedral in 2022, marking the return of peregrines to the Cathedral after more than a decade. In 2023, a high-resolution live camera was installed, providing 24-hour coverage that drew nearly 400,000 views worldwide. Since then, the live stream has become an annual tradition.

Peregrines have a deep connection to Worcester, with their presence in the area documented for centuries. They even feature in the Cathedral’s stunning West Window and other historic stonework.

Nature’s Speedsters

Peregrine falcons are the fastest creatures on earth, capable of reaching over 200 mph in a hunting dive. They are large and powerful birds, easily recognized by their broad, pointed wings and short tails. Despite their incredible speed and strength, peregrines are currently classified as Green under the UK’s Birds of Conservation Concern.

Don’t miss out on this rare opportunity to observe nature’s marvels up close. Tune in to the Peregrine Live Stream today and follow Peter and Peggy as they prepare for another exciting breeding season.
