There’s growing frustration across Kempsey as residents express concern over the way the Parish Council has been operating in recent years – particularly around issues of transparency, communication, and the handling of public money.
Several key decisions – including those relating to the Pavilion Café, Pixham Ferry Lane, and community funding allocations – have sparked debate and led many to feel that the council is no longer acting in the best interests of local people.
A number of residents have now launched a petition calling for a change in council leadership, believing that fresh representation is needed to restore confidence and rebuild trust between the Parish Council and the community it serves.
Many feel that decisions are being made without proper consultation, that transparency is lacking, and that projects are being pursued without clear long-term benefit to residents.
Regardless of where you stand, it’s clear that Kempsey deserves open, accountable, and community-led governance – where residents are heard, spending is transparent, and decisions reflect the needs of the whole village.
We’ll continue to follow this story as it develops and update readers on any formal responses or changes within the Parish Council.
