The River Severn is rising steadily and a flood warning is now in force for villages in south Worcestershire.
Environment authorities are keeping a close watch as water levels continue to climb following recent heavy rainfall.
Residents are urged to take the following precautions:
- Avoid riverside roads, footpaths and parking near the banks of the river.
- Be alert for blocked drainage, debris, and the potential for fast-moving water in side streams.
- If you’re living or working near the riverbank, consider moving vehicles or equipment to higher ground and make sure basement or ground-floor spaces are protected.
- Keep on top of the latest updates via local council and flood-alert services.
The warning remains until river levels recede and the risk subsides. We’ll keep you updated here on Kempsey.co.uk as the situation develops.
