Man Sentenced After Death of 59-Year-Old in Kempsey

A man has been sentenced following the death of a 59-year-old man after an incident in Kempsey.

The case relates to an assault that took place earlier this year, which left the victim with serious, life-changing injuries. He was taken to hospital following the incident but sadly died some time later.  

The incident itself happened in a typically quiet part of the village, which made the news all the more shocking for local residents at the time.

The man responsible, Jack Taylor (29), was later charged and has now been sentenced for manslaughter in connection with the case.

The charge reflects the seriousness of what happened – a situation that began as an assault but ultimately led to the loss of life.
