A woman tormented by an evil spirit in her home has had the entity exorcised on a television show. Emma and her partner Ross, from Kempsey, have been haunted by a spirit they call the Shadow Man, and their ordeal is featured in the second episode of season six of the Discovery+ series Help! My House is Haunted.
The show, led by paranormal experts Barri Ghai, Jayne Harris, and Ian Lawman, visited the Worcestershire village after Emma shared her chilling experiences with the supernatural figure. “I feel like I have no spiritual boundary, these things are just latching onto me,” Emma explained. “I was woken up to people walking through my wall. Every time I try to sleep, they grab my wrist—I can feel their fingers.”
Emma described the terrifying encounters, including sensations of being touched, strange smells, and even being bitten, leaving her feeling helpless.
The couple had moved into their four-bedroom home in Kempsey, only to find it plagued by malevolent spirits that torment Emma daily. During the investigation, psychic medium Ian Lawman speculated that the dark energy could be connected to the area’s history, possibly the English Civil War. “This place has some really weird energy,” Lawman remarked upon entering. “It’s as if the land is tainted with blood.”
Later in the episode, Lawman performs an exorcism on Emma in her bedroom, confronting the evil spirit. The psychic medium is seen battling with the entity, and after the intense ritual, Barri Ghai described the experience as one of the most intense the team had ever faced.
This isn’t the first time the show has investigated paranormal activity in Worcestershire. In season five, the crew visited Tenbury Wells to address otherworldly visitors haunting another local home.
