Birds stolen from historic Kempsey manor house

Birds have reportedly been stolen from the grounds of a historic manor house in Kempsey, prompting concern following the theft.

The incident happened at The Nash, a historic property in the Kempsey parish which dates back more than 400 years.

The Nash is one of the area’s notable historic buildings. Historic England records the property as Grade II listed and dates the house to around 1600, although parts of the building could be even older.

The property was altered during the 19th and early 20th centuries but retains a number of significant historic features.

The theft of the birds has now attracted attention locally, with the incident reported following their disappearance from the property.

Anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area, or who has information which could help identify those responsible or locate the missing birds, is encouraged to report what they know to the police.

Residents with CCTV, doorbell cameras or dashcam footage from around the area at the relevant time may also have captured something useful.
