November Parish Council

The government is proposing to reform the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) and has invited responses from the public, including Kempsey Parish Council (KPC).

KPC has submitted responses and thanks Cllr Gardener and the Planning Committee for their efforts in compiling comments on the government’s proposals. The reforms could have significant implications for the Parish, especially in terms of assessing housing needs and potential land development.

In other news, maintenance work has been done on Kempsey Common, with gorse and bramble clearance to improve access for visitors. Additionally, a volunteer group is planting daffodil bulbs around the village, thanks to a donation from Platform Housing and funds from KPC. They are also working on tidying up planters and creating a new decorative sign for the village.

Community facilities have also seen improvements, with a disabled parking bay marked out at the Community Centre, car parking bay markings renewed at the Youth Centre, and smoke alarms fitted at the Sports Pavilion.

Work is ongoing to construct ramps for easier access to the play area at the Sports Pavilion. Lastly, a fixed point for the annual Christmas tree will be installed outside the Parish Hall in time for the tree lighting event on December 7th.
