Vodafone-Three Merger to Bring Better Signal for Kempsey Village

Big news for Kempsey residents! The proposed merger between Vodafone UK and Three UK is set to improve mobile coverage across the country including right here in our village, which struggles with poor mobile reception, this is about to change.

With the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) now indicating that the merger could be approved, Kempsey could soon benefit from stronger signal strength and improved 5G connectivity.

What This Means for Kempsey

✅ Better Coverage – The merged network aims to cover 99% of the UK population, reducing blackspots in rural areas like Kempsey.

✅ Faster Speeds – Data speeds are expected to increase up to 6-fold by 2034, meaning smoother streaming, browsing, and calls.

✅ Stronger Network Investment – A £11 billion investment over the next 10 years will enhance digital infrastructure and reliability.

The merger will create a new entity, “MergeCo,” with Vodafone holding 51% and Three’s parent company, CK Hutchison, holding 49%. This move will boost competition against BT and Virgin Media O2 while accelerating the UK’s 5G roll-out.

Kempsey residents have long struggled with inconsistent signal, but with this merger, those frustrations could soon be a thing of the past. Stay tuned for further updates on when these improvements will roll out!
