Yes, it’s back. … The Annual Parish Meeting lands at Kempsey Community Centre on Thursday 21 May at 7.30pm, bringing with it an evening of:
- local politics,
- village updates,
- biodiversity strategies,
- unaudited accounts,
- and possibly the most intense discussion about grass, drains and parking you’ll hear all year.
Honestly… Glastonbury wishes it had this lineup.
Featured Guest Speakers
This year’s blockbuster guests include:
Rebecca Lashley
Principal Nature Recovery Officer discussing the Worcestershire Local Nature Recovery Strategy.
Expect:
- wildlife,
- habitats,
- biodiversity,
- and at least one person wondering if they can legally rewild their front garden.
Simon Bott – Kempsey CIC
Talking about community projects and local initiatives helping shape the future of the village. Possibly the only presentation where “pump tracks”, “digital inclusion” and “community cafés” may all appear in the same sentence.
Police Report
Find out:
- what’s happening locally,
- traffic and parking updates,
- and whether any bus shelters are currently under investigation.
The Accounts Section
Nothing says “Thursday night entertainment” quite like:
“Statement of Unaudited Accounts 2025/26”
Try to contain yourselves.
The Kempsey Vision
The Parish Council will also discuss The Kempsey Vision – the long-term ideas and ambitions for the village covering community projects, infrastructure, green spaces and future development.
Think of it as:
“Kempsey: The Extended Director’s Cut.”
Reports From Councillors
Updates from:
- County Councillor Martin Allen
- District Councillors David Harrison & John Michael
- Parish Council Committees
Including all the latest on:
- planning,
- roads,
- sports facilities,
- solar projects,
- daffodils,
- footpaths,
- and probably a hedge dispute somewhere.
Everyone Is Welcome
The Annual Parish Meeting is open to all residents, so if you’ve ever:
- wondered how decisions get made,
- wanted to ask questions,
- fancied getting more involved,
- or simply enjoy watching local democracy unfold in real time…
…this is your moment.
Tea may or may not feature.
Excitement almost certainly will.
