A Kempsey man stalked a woman and placed a tracking device on her car, a court has heard.
The case involved the man repeatedly monitoring the woman, including using a tracker fitted to her vehicle to follow her movements.
The behaviour formed part of a course of conduct which resulted in the man appearing before the courts accused of stalking.
Using tracking devices to monitor someone’s movements without their knowledge can form part of controlling or stalking behaviour, particularly when combined with repeated unwanted contact or surveillance.
The case is a concerning reminder of how readily available technology can be misused to monitor another person’s location.
The Worcester News reported on the court proceedings involving the Kempsey man and the circumstances surrounding the stalking offence.
